Immunotherapy Manual
Allergen immunotherapy is an effective treatment used by allergists for a wide range of common allergic conditions. It has proven effective in numerous randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews, but, despite this sound evidence base, immunotherapy is often underutilized or improperly prescribed in Canada. Immunotherapy has also been identified as an educational gap in Canadian clinical immunology and allergy training programs.
With this current edition of the immunotherapy manual, we hope to offer fellows in clinical immunology and allergy a solid foundation in immunotherapy, which they can incorporate into their future clinical practices. The manual focuses specifically on allergen immunotherapy for the treatment of allergic rhinitis/conjunctivitis, allergic asthma, and stinging insect hypersensitivity.
