Perioperative Anaphylaxis Webinar

Dr. Peter Cooke (Auckland, NZ)
Dr. Cooke is an anaesthesiologist in Auckland, New Zealand. He has joint responsibility for the Auckland Anaesthetic Allergy Clinic in conjunction with the Department of Immunology. The clinic investigates suspected perioperative reactions and receives 100 referrals per year. Peter was one of the founding members of the Australian and New Zealand Anaesthetic Allergy Group and he is convinced that the development of an international network will assist scientific progress in this subject area.
Dr. Sarah Greene (Sydney, AU)
Dr Sarah Green is an anaesthetist in Sydney in mixed public and private practice. She represents the perioperative allergy service at Royal North Shore Hospital, with which she’s been closely involved since 2012. “The work interest that gets me out of bed every day is patient care and interaction; people vary so much, so it’s never dull to me. Outside of work I love visual arts, live music and theatre consumed with friends, family and good food.”
Dr. Ghislaine Isabwe (Montreal, QC)
Dr. Isabwe is Assistant Professor of Medicine at McGill University, Division of Allergy and Clinical immunology, Department of Medicine at McGill University Health Center in Montreal. She did a Clinical Research Fellowship in Drug Hypersensitivity and Desensitization especially to Chemotherapeutic and Biologic agents, at Harvard Medical School (Brigham and Women’s Hospital) in Boston, USA. Her main clinical and research interests are to understand the mechanisms of drug allergies, predisposing factors, tools used for investigation, methods of safe re-exposure and the impact of drug testing on quality of life.
Dr. Juan Ruiz (Vancouver, BC)
Dr. Juan Ruiz graduated from the Allergy and Immunology program at the University of British Columbia. His clinical interests include immunology, drug allergies, urticaria, allergic rhinitis, and peri-operative anaphylaxis. He is the director of the Peri-Operative Anaphylaxis Clinic (POAC) at Vancouver General Hospital. Recently, he joined St. Paul’s Hospital and started a multidisciplinary clinic with ENT to serve patients with aspirin allergy and nasal polyposis.
